The Medifast plan may be more expensive than eating at a fast food joint, but then if you look at the rewards such as maintaining good health, losing weight and feeling emotionally better, not to mention paying lot less visits to the doctor, what you pay is really not all that much. You have to make a choice whether you want to titillate your taste buds eating the average American diet, take prescription drugs for high BP and other related problems or go in for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
